Our global client is a Canadian born cleantech company looking to make an impact in the concrete industry by introducing recycled CO2 to reduce overall emissions. This innovative technology is groundbreaking and spreading quickly throughout the nation. In addition to an environmentally impactful vision, this company is also competing in a major carbon competition aiming to accelerate these technologies widespread in the concrete industry.

Role Responsibilities:

Field Shift Supervisors will be accountable for the day-to-day operations on site, given that this is for a 12-week period, Supervisors will be required to be available on a 24-7 basis due to operations running at all hours. Tasks include:
  • Overall management of the pilot system (training provided)
  • Ensuring that the wastewater treatment processes are running efficiently
  • Regular inspection of equipment
  • Direct and manage the inbound and outbound of ready-mix concrete products into machinery
  • Logging all materials and samples including preparation of samples
  • Lead all operations in a manner that ensures the health and safety of all working members on site are protected
  • Identify any operational risks and create contingency plans to consult with additional management
  • Performing any lifting of materials and operating/assessing equipment when required
  • Providing daily feedback to management teams through maintenance reports and data logs

Qualifications:

A minimum requirement of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a industrial/field environment
  • 3 years' experience managing maintenance programs
  • A degree or diploma in an industrial sector an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail, prioritizing accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Google doc knowledge
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work under deadlines, and prioritize tasks
  • Value change and innovation, eager attitude to learn new processes in the cleantech industry
  • Provide good leadership to team members, mentor junior teammates
  • Feel comfortable with media presence on site
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Shift times:
  • Full-time availability day and night, and strong commitment to the role for the 12-week period
  • 10 - 12 hours shifts may be required
  • 30 - 40 hours per week depending on the operating period
